"In Memory Of" Bronze Sculptures Unveiled in Colorado

Two life-sized bronze sculptures, created by Scott Stearman and honoring Vietnam Veterans were unveiled this past year in the town centers of Creede and Gunnison, Colorado. This unique sculpture depicts a rifle imbedded into the ground by the bayonet, helmet resting on top of the rifle, boots at the base. This duplicated a scene on the battle front honoring a fallen soldier. These sculptures were commissioned by a Vietnam Veteran's organization and were dedicated on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day featuring town leaders and a representation by the U.S. Marine Corps and several Vietnam veterans. The life-sized bronze sculpture was preceded by a home-sized version of the sculpture that was offered for sale throughout the United States with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Vietnam war veterans.
